Special Feature: Tokyo Game Show 2025【Series #2 – Interview with the Planner, Director and Designer】

As we get ready for Tokyo Game Show 2025, we’ll be sharing a special article series featuring our developers’ thoughts and highlights of our games.
In the second part of the series, we interviewed with the Planner, Director and Designer, on the theme: “What is the Tokyo Game Show for them?

Q: What inspired this project?
A: The original idea comes from my classmate’s book The Last Resort, published by Gentosha. It blends Native American history with European and Russian influences. For the game, I reimagined it as Earth a thousand years in the future with a sci-fi twist.

Q: How did you handle direction?
A: The key was establishing a workflow that integrates AI. We had to evaluate new generative AIs, decide where humans should step in, and keep the project smooth and efficient. Since the team was fully remote, communication tools were also critical.

Q: What about design?
A: AI was essential here too. We focused on character design—what descendants of Native Americans might look like in the future, how alien invaders should appear, and how to make allies and enemies visually distinct. For sound, we fused traditional Native American music with a sci-fi flavor, heavily supported by AI.

Q: Any final thoughts?
A: Thanks to AI, I could take on not only direction but also design, illustration, and sound. The cost savings and creative possibilities are huge, and I’m excited for what comes next.
